We invite local musicians to perform in our home,
and you can join us!
Hosts and Venue
Michael and James are passionate patrons of the arts, especially live music. We are fortunate to be able to host small audiences of around 30 people in our home to enjoy intimate performances by the finest local musicians. Most concerts include a musician playing our well-maintained Ibach grand piano. We are located in the Crown Isle neighbourhood of Courtenay.
Relaxed and Friendly
At our intimate home concerts you can really unwind and enjoy the music in a relaxed setting. Chat with the musicians before or after the concert. Enjoy a light snack and beverage – included in the ticket price. Feel free to bring a bottle of wine! There’s nothing quite like experiencing live music in a small setting. We hope the experience will feel just like home.
Supporting Local Musicians
Helping local musicians earn a living – and an audience – by having them make music for you… is there a better way to support musicians, the arts, and the community? We don’t make any money from hosting these concerts. All but $2 of what you pay for the ticket is paid directly to the musicians. The extra $2 covers our cost to serve non-alcoholic beverages and light snacks before and after the concert.
Upcoming Home Concerts
"Concert halls and big clubs can be fun, but as a performer I know that the closer I am to the audience, the more it becomes a truly shared and immersive creative experience. I can't say enough good things about what James and Michael are doing with the York Place Musical Salon, and I'm looking forward to a return visit soon."

"The York Place Musical Salon is a community treasure. We are so grateful to James and Michael for organizing the musical events and opening their home to us. The setting and the attention to detail are extraordinary for both the audience and the musicians."
