Information for Musicians
We are very grateful to the many amazing musicians that have appeared in the Salon, and we're equally thankful for the interest shown by musicians asking about performance opportunities. Now that we have been presenting concerts for over two years, we know what works in the Salon, and what our audience enjoys. To help guide musicians, here are things to consider before contacting us...

-
Concerts are presented in our home and we typically host no more than one concert per month.
-
Almost all concerts are presented on Sunday afternoons, with the occasional Saturday evening performance, and even less often on week days.
-
Our primary interests are classical and jazz, with some room for things in between but not straying too far from these genres. Check out our past concerts to get a sense.
-
Most concerts make use of our very fine grand piano, but occasionally we present groups like a string quartet or guitar soloist. Since the piano is the heart of the Salon, our preference is for concerts that make use of it.
-
We will not consider use of an electronic keyboard.
-
Most concerts are planned several months in advance and we cannot accommodate short notice events.
-
Space is limited, with room for no more than four musicians (and that is tight).
-
Most concerts are completely acoustic, and for the few that are amplified, it is very basic with minimal equipment that is barely noticeable to the audience.
-
We cannot accommodate special lighting or recording equipment.
-
Our audiences love to hear musicians talk about their music, instruments, and stories from the road. Some of the "intimacy" of our Salon experience comes from the storytelling as much as the music.

We host these concerts for the love of music and to support the livelihood of musicians. All but $3 from each ticket sold is passed on to the musicians but our audience size is typically 30 people maximum, so that dictates ticket revenue potential.

Thanks for considering these points to determine if our venue is right for you. Nothing would please us more than to meet new musicians and introduce you to our audience if it makes sense for all of us.
