A Robbie Burns Celebration
Baritone Michael MacKinnon, mezzo-soprano Shanté Van Horlick and pianist Scott Knight present the music and tales of Scotland's timeless bard and those he has influenced for the last 250 years. This joyful and memorable musical afternoon will highlight why Burns holds such importance and why his legacy is passionately celebrated even today.


"Born to be Blue" with David Braid and friends
Canadian composer and pianist David Braid performs jazz standards he arranged for the film "Born to be Blue" about the life of jazz trumpeter and vocalist Chet Baker. David is joined by stellar musicians Steve Wallace on bass, Mike Allen on saxophone, and Anders Mogensen on percussion.


Songs of Love and Longing: Beethoven & Schumann Lieder
Tenor Benjamin Butterfield and pianist Robert Holliston perform two of the most beautiful song cycles in the repertoire: Beethoven’s "An die Ferne Geliebte" and Schumann’s "Dichterliebe." These gorgeous and moving songs touch on the most profound human emotions.


From Classical to Klezmer
Clarinetist Connie Gitlin and pianist Jannie Burdeti take us on a journey through the expressive repertoire for clarinet and piano, from opera to jazz to klezmer!


Forest Benson, piano
Seventeen year-old Vancouver pianist Forest Benson plays with extraordinary musical maturity and technical brilliancy and we are thrilled to host him in the Salon for this recital! Program highlights include Beethoven: Sonata No. 18 and Brahms: Variations on a Theme of Paganini.


The Four Jays
The Four Jays present a fresh take on classical, contemporary, and jazz music with an unlikely combination of saxophone, violin, bass, and piano. This concert has something for everyone... the best of The Four Jays’ repertoire in a “menu du jour” of Impressionist, 20th Century, Jazz and Tango.


The Venner Quartet
‘Venner’ means ‘friends’ in Norwegian and The Venner Quartet brings together four friends who will delight us with a varied program of classics from the string quartet repertoire.
